Jerzy Antczak (born 25 December 1929, in Włodzimierz Wołyński) is a Polish film director. His film Nights and Days was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and was entered into the 26th Berlin International Film Festival.
Desire for Love, Jerzy Antczak failed to repeat the success of Nights and Days. Though, he remained faithful to his preferences in terms of accurate adaptation of Alexandre Dumas's novel, as well as in the power of acting interpretations, shown in the film about Fryderyk Chopin and George Sand.
Jerzy Antczak was born on 25 December 1929 in Wlodzimierz Wolynski, Wolynskie, Poland [now Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Ukraine]. He is a director and writer, known for Nights and Days (1975), Chopin: Desire for Love (2002) and Noce i dnie (1978). He is married to Jadwiga Baranska.
