A Man Called Gannon is a 1968 American Technicolor Western film directed by James Goldstone starring Tony Franciosa, Michael Sarrazin and Judi West. The film is a remake of Man Without a Star (1955).
After a range war in Texas in which he lost his brother and his ranch, former cattleman Gannon takes a freight train to Kansas. Between Kansas City and Union Wells, Gannon meets Jess Washburn, a tenderfoot from Philadelphia.
Gannon, a saddle tramp, hops aboard a freight train leaving Kansas City, and when the train stops, he rescues Jess Washburn, a young runaway tied to the tracks by an angry lineman. Gannon allows Jess to accompany him to the small town of Union Wells, where Jess becomes a willing student in the ways of the West.
