1h 30m. Synopsis. In Virginia in 1880, a Yankee of dubious origin marries the daughter of a distinguished plantation owner. Unbeknownst to his bride, the groom intends to revenge himself on her father, who had initially rejected his suit. To this end he subjects his wife to constant humiliation.
