The Silver Chalice takes place in Judea and other parts of the Roman Empire shortly after the death of Jesus. A young man, Basil, is adopted by a rich man, but loses his fortune when his father dies and his uncle defrauds him, claiming he was purchased as a slave, and sells him.
After marrying the lovely Deborra (Pier Angeli), Basil receives an important opportunity when he is asked to cast and engrave Jesus Christ's cup from the Last Supper in silver.
