The Adventure of the Italian Nobleman Poirot and Hastings are in their rooms with a neighbour, Dr Hawker, when the medical man's housekeeper arrives with the message that a client, Count Foscatini, has phoned for the doctor, crying out for help.
Poirot helps solve the murder of Count Foscatini, an Italian nobleman of unsavoury reputation, who also happens to be the employer of Miss Lemon's new suitor. The TV adaptation is faithful to the main premise of the original story with respect to how the murder was committed.
