Tony Curtis plays a slick, fast-talking gambling boss, Julie Andrews plays his girlfriend and falls in love with Matthau, and Bob Newhart is appropriately jumpy as Matthau’s assistant who is familiar with the kidnapping statutes.
When a gambler leaves his daughter as a marker for a bet, he gets stuck with her. His life will change a great deal with her arrival and his sudden love for a woman also involved in gambling operations.
