  3. The Winnipeg Railway Museum was a railway museum located on tracks 1 and 2 within the Via Rail-operated Union Station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Volunteers from the Midwestern Rail Association Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 1975, operated the museum.

  4. Nov 10, 2022 · The museum, which closed in 2021 due to renovations, has signed a 25-year deal with Via Rail to stay at the historic Main Street station. It hopes to reopen in November 2024 after raising $2 million for repairs and upgrades.

  5. Ran entirely by volunteers the museum was enriched with a wealth of information from Winnipeg’s trains to involvement in rail across Canada! I really enjoyed the visit, getting to learn a lot about the details of the VIA system and Winnipeg’s historical involvement in connecting the country!
