Randy & the Rainbows are an American doo-wop group from Maspeth, New York . History. The group was formed in 1962 in Maspeth, Queens, and featured two pairs of siblings, along with a fifth member. The Safuto brothers, Dominick and Frank, had previously sung in the group The Dialtones.

Oct 17, 2018 · I found out from reading Don Tandler's Facebook feed that Randy Safuto of Randy and the Rainbows fame passed away. This report from Vintage Vinyl News stated that he suffered a heart attack last May, so I am assuming that a heart condition was the cause of death.
Randy and the Rainbows reappeared, but as two groups...one led by Dominick "Randy" Safuto and his brother Frank, the other by Mike Zero. A routine developed and the individual acts co-existed peacefully (unlike almost all other split groups) for many years.
