Jane Caroline Owen (born 15 April 1963) is a British politician and diplomat. She is the current Governor of the Cayman Islands and the second woman to hold this position. [2] She had previously served as the British ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein and the British ambassador to Norway.

Jane Owen was appointed Governor to the Cayman Islands on Friday 21 April 2023.
Jane was educated at Ellerslie School in Malvern, and Trinity College, Cambridge (BA Hons in Russian, French and German). She was born in Bilston in the West Midlands.
The Governor is the representative of His Majesty The King in a British Overseas Territory. The Governor acts as the de facto head of state and is usually responsible for appointing the head of government, and senior political positions in the territory. The Governor is also responsible for liaising with the UK Government, and carrying out any ceremonial duties.
