Prince Frederick Augustus of Anhalt-Dessau was born on September 23 1799, in Dessau, to Frederick, Hereditary Prince of Anhalt-Dessau and Landgravine Amalie of Hesse-Homburg. Prince married Princess Marie Luise Charlotte of Hesse-Kassel on September 11 1832, at age 32.
Prince of Anhalt-Dessau, also served as regent for his cousin, Louis Augustus Karl Frederick Emil of Anhalt-Kothen. After his death the regency in Anhalt-Kothen passed together with the principality of Anhalt-Dessau to his son.
