Addie E. McFarland High School was the segregated high school serving African American students from 1950 to 1965 in Mineola, Texas. The institution had prior been named Mineola Colored High School (1947 to 1950) and South Ward High School (1889 to 1947).
Sometime during the middle 1950's, the school name was changed to McFarland High School, after a long time teacher, the late Addie McFarland, who taught many generations in this community. The 1965-1966 school year would be the final year of McFarland High School.

Feb 15, 2024 · Closing its doors in the 60s following integration in the area, the Addie McFarland school building was brought back to life, turning into the Addie McFarland Community Center for the City of Mineola. The school underwent a renovation with the help of the Mineola Meredith Foundation.
