German Village does not have a recreated sense of history or kitschy Bavarian feel ~ rather, it is a neighborhood with architecture dating from the 1840s-1890s that has been preserved, and its use as a shared residential and commercial neighborhood has been maintained.

Ohio Village is located at 800 E 17th Ave, Columbus, OH, 43211, at the intersection of I-71 & 17th Avenue (Exit 111) on the grounds of the Ohio History Center in Columbus.
Wednesday–Sunday • 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Ohio Village, our recreated 19th-century community, is included with museum admission starting on Opening Day Saturday, May 25, 2024! Please note that the Ohio History Center & Ohio Village are closed Monday, May 27, Wednesday, June 19, and Thursday July 4.

Ohio Village is included with admission to the Ohio History Center. Advance tickets are available but not required. Walk-up admission is available anytime during open hours at the Ohio History Center front desk. Members who wish to reserve tickets in advance can do so by calling 614-297-2300 during business hours.
German Village is a historic neighborhood in Columbus, Ohio, just south of the city's downtown. It was settled in the early-to-mid-19th century by a large number of German immigrants, who at one time comprised as much as a third of the city's entire population.
The village, intended to provide a firsthand view of life in Ohio during the American Civil War, opened July 27, 1974, on 15 acres (61,000 m 2) adjacent to the Ohio History Center in north Columbus. Currently, the Ohio Village is themed toward life in the 1890s.
