Susan retired as full Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of Arizona in 2020. She is author of Transgender History, co-editor of The Transgender Studies Reader, co-founder of TSQ: Transgender Studies Quarterly, and co-director of Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria.
