- About Wolfson
Wolfson College ( / ˈwʊlfsən /) is a constituent college of the University of Cambridge [6] in Cambridge, England. The majority of students at the college are postgraduates. The college also admits "mature" undergraduates (aged 21 and above), with around 15% of students studying undergraduate degree courses at the university.
Wolfson combines the traditions of a Cambridge University College with a dynamic and outward-facing view. Founded in 1965 as " University College ", Wolfson was initially only for postgraduate students, and was located in a single house with just a dozen rooms and a long, narrow garden that ran from Selwyn Gardens to Barton Road.
Located on a single site just beyond the city centre, surrounded by glorious gardens and with facilities including a tennis court and gym, Wolfson is an inspiring and supportive environment where you can fulfil your potential and help change the world. The creation of Wolfson College Cambridge followed a circuitous route, beginning in 1967, with a tentative approach to the Wolfson Foundation from the classicist John Sinclair Morrison (1913-2000) of the then-University College, Cambridge.
