The season after the original Saved by the Bell series ended, Peter Engel Productions and NBC rolled out Saved by the Bell: The New Class, also set at Bayside High School but featuring a new group of young actors, with original cast members Dennis Haskins (Principal Richard Belding) and Dustin Diamond ("Screech" Powers, who came along in season 2) providing some continuity.
