  6. 1971: Solid year. I really like The French Connection and I admire their choice as a Best Picture winner, but I prefer A Clockwork Orange, Fiddler on the Roof and The Last Picture Show. Orange is easily my pick but they'd never go for it. 1972: It's difficult to argue against The Godfather. It wouldn't make my personal 5 but that's no big deal.
