(Jenico) Nicholas Dudley Preston, 17th Viscount Gormanston (born 19 November 1939), is an Anglo-Irish aristocrat and British hereditary peer, who sat in the House of Lords (as Baron Gormanston) until 1999. Lord Gormanston is the premier viscount in the Peerage of Ireland (title created 1478).
Viscount Gormanston is a title in the Peerage of Ireland created in 1478 and held by the head of the Preston family, which hailed from Lancashire. It is the oldest vicomital title in the British Isles; the holder is Premier Viscount of Ireland. The Preston family descends from Sir Robert Preston, who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland.
Oct 4, 2016 · Nicholas died during the war and was succeeded by his son, Jenico Preston as 7th Viscount Gormanston. When the Royalist and Confederate forces were defeated by the Cromwell’s forces, Jenico went into exile with Charles II and his lands were confiscated.

Preston, Nicholas (c.1608–43), 6th Viscount Gormanston , Old English leader, was the son of Jenico Preston (qv), 5th viscount, and his wife Margaret, daughter of Nicholas St Lawrence, Lord Howth. On the death of his father in December 1630, Nicholas succeeded to the title and estates at the age of twenty-two.
