(Jenico) Nicholas Dudley Preston, 17th Viscount Gormanston (born 19 November 1939), is an Anglo-Irish aristocrat and British hereditary peer, who sat in the House of Lords (as Baron Gormanston) until 1999. Lord Gormanston is the premier viscount in the Peerage of Ireland (title created 1478).
Viscount Gormanston is a title in the Peerage of Ireland created in 1478 and held by the head of the Preston family, which hailed from Lancashire. It is the oldest vicomital title in the British Isles; the holder is Premier Viscount of Ireland. The Preston family descends from Sir Robert Preston, who served as Lord Chancellor of Ireland.
Preston, Nicholas (c.1608–43), 6th Viscount Gormanston , Old English leader, was the son of Jenico Preston (qv), 5th viscount, and his wife Margaret, daughter of Nicholas St Lawrence, Lord Howth. On the death of his father in December 1630, Nicholas succeeded to the title and estates at the age of twenty-two.

Preston, Jenico (Genico) (1585–1630), 5th Viscount Gormanston , landowner and champion of the catholic cause, was the son of Christopher Preston, 4th viscount, and his wife Catherine, daughter of Sir Thomas Fitzwilliam of Merrion, Dublin.
Nicholas Preston, 6th Viscount Gormanston (1606–1643) sat in the House of Lords of the Irish Parliament of 1634–1635 and sided with the insurgents after the Irish Rebellion of 1641.
Educated by private tutor, Anthony Preston succeeded as 11th Viscount Gormanston on the death of his father (1757). He embarked on a grand tour of Europe (1760–61) with his tutor and guide John Turberville Needham, the noted catholic divine and antiquary, visiting Venice, Milan, and Rome.
