    • Barghest (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) They look absolutely terrifying with all those teeth and red eyes, but barghests are surprisingly loyal and genuine pets.

"Even if you do manage that, the hounds will find you within minutes."

―Emerie Karr to Crosshair as the latter tries to escape the Tantiss Base

Dogs, also known as hounds, were a classification of non-sentient, quadrupedal or sometimes hexapedal species in the galaxy. One type was the akk dog, which was found on Anoat. The Begamor two-headed dog was found on the planet Begamor.

The term "dog" could also be used as a word for contempt. While C-3PO's head was temporarily attached to a B1-series battle droid's body during the First Battle of Geonosis, he was heard shouting, "Die, Jedi dogs!" Additionally, the phrase "wet dog" was used by Luke Skywalker to describe an odor he smelled while on Kupoh.
