As of February 2022, Walden remains on Arizona's death row. He has repeatedly filed appeals to his sentence, claiming that he should have been tried separately for each of the crimes he had been accused of, with the latest such appeal being rejected by the Circuit Court of Appeals in 2021. [12]

Aug 28, 2021 · Robert then escalated to killing. On June 13, at around 2:30 PM, Miguela Burhans’ husband came home to find her dead in the bedroom. She was found lying on her stomach, naked from the waist down. Miguela was sexually assaulted, strangled, and cut with a knife.
Walden was convicted on July 31, 1992, and sentenced on December 9, 1992. Robert Walden remains on death row.
