A short history of the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Up until the end of the Eighteenth Century there was only formal training for British Army Artillery and Engineer officers, leaving the majority as, at best, ‘gifted amateurs’.
May 8, 2024 · Schedule. 10.00am – Depart from the National Army Museum by coach. 11.15am – Arrive at Sandhurst, with tea and biscuits in the IAMR. 11.30pm – Art talk from Anna Lavelle. 12.00pm – Lunch. 1.00pm – Tour of Old College and surrounding buildings. 3.30pm – Depart from Sandhurst by coach. 5.00pm – Arrive back at the National Army Museum.
Renowned world-wide as an international centre of excellence for leadership training, the Academy has welcomed cadets from across the globe. Of the 200 cadets commissioning 35 had been sent from 26 different countries including: Armenia, Ethiopia, Morocco, Montenegro, Iraq and Uruguay.
