Tønsberg is a city southeastern in Vestfold County, on the western shore of the Oslofjord. Tønsberg lies north of Færder, south of Horten, and north-east of Sandefjord. It is the ninth-largest city in Norway (by population). The city center lies just north of Nøtterøy Island.

- Walk to Castle Rock Tower. Castle Rock Tower was built to commemorate the 1,000-year anniversary of Tønsberg – an anniversary not many cities can claim!
- See some art at Haugar kunstmuseum. This small art museum is quite an enjoyable place to spend a few hours! It houses a permanent collection on the first floor and rotating exhibitions on the second.
- Stroll along the waterfront. The docks in Tønsberg are a very pretty spot for a walk. There are many nice restaurants along the waterfront if you want to stop for a bite to eat.

Tønsberg is located about 100km south of Oslo on the Oslofjord near its mouth into the Skaggerak between Norway and Denmark. It’s good location has been the basis for Tønsberg’s incredible history; after all, it is considered to be the oldest city in Norway and was an important place during the Viking Age.
