The 2026 Winter Olympics ( Italian: Olimpiadi invernali del 2026 ), officially the XXV Olympic Winter Games (Italian: XXV Giochi olimpici invernali) and also known as Milano Cortina 2026, [1] is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to take place from 6 to 22 February 2026 in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will be spread over an area of more than 22,000 sq km. In addition to Milano and Cortina d'Ampezzo, competitions and ceremonies will also take place in Bormio and Livigno in Valtellina, Predazzo and Tesero in Val di Fiemme, Anterselva/Antholz and Verona.
Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first Olympic Games to be hosted in two cities, Milano and Cortina, two regions, Lombardia and Veneto, and two Autonomous Provinces, Trento e Bolzano, covering a total area of 22,000 km2. It will be the most geographically widespread Olympic Winter Games in history.
