Beth McCauley (Jessica Lange) is an ordinary person, the loving and put-upon caretaker in a house of boys–husband John (Tom Mason), teenage son Chris (Chris O’Donnell) and young son Matt (Charlie Korsmo). Her life is thrown into crisis when John dies in an accident at work.
