The Karate Kid Part II is a 1986 American martial arts drama film. It serves as a sequel to the 1984 film, The Karate Kid, and is the second film in The Karate Kid movie franchise. It stars Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita as Daniel LaRusso and his mentor Mr. Miyagi.
The opening of the story recaps events from the end of the previous film: Daniel LaRusso squares off against Johnny Lawrence in the final match of the All-Valley Under-18 Karate Tournament and wins the match and the tournament when he plants the Crane Kick to Johnny's chin.
Resting on his laurels as an undisputed Karate Champion, Daniel LaRusso and his invaluable dear mentor, Mr Miyagi, return to the latter's hometown in humid Okinawa, after receiving an urgent letter about the sensei's gravely ill father.
