“The Frank Book” by Jim Woodring. Jim Woodring was probably my biggest discovery of 2021. His comics are unlike anything else I’ve read: pure expression of the subconscious, totally surreal, and full of powerful imagery. They’re like Bugs Bunny’s acid-fuelled nightmares channelled through mediaeval woodcuts.
