Bruno Canino was born in Naples, Italy in 1935, where he studied piano with Vincenzo Vitale. He continued his musical education in Milan, studying both piano and composition.
He also exercised the activity of artistic director for some organizations (such as the Giovine Orchestra Genovese, from 1986 to 1995), and in 1999-2002 he was musical director of the Venice Biennale. He is married and has three children: Barbara, Giovanni and Serena.
A distinguished artist, one of the greatest Italian pianists of all time, Bruno Canino boasts over 60 years of career, during which he has played in the main concert halls and festivals in Europe, America, Australia, Asia.
Bruno Canino gives regular masterclasses in piano and chamber music in Italy, Germany, Spain and Japan and is frequently invited to serve on the juries of important international piano competitions. He is the author of the book Vademecum for a Chamber Pianist (Passigli Editions, 1997).
