Review by Mike ★★★½. City of Shadows aka Nightmare City (NOT to be confused with Umberto Lenzi's zombie movie from 7 years prior) is a fairly compelling, low budget futuristic crime film that also doesn't make a ton of sense. Paul is a cop in the future who has periodic fits of rage.

Jun 19, 2021 · Released on U.K. video as ‘Nightmare City’, CITY OF SHADOWS is a highly effective mix of kitchen sink drama, police procedural, social commentary, conspiracy thriller, and Mad Max ian sci-fi that lives up to the bleak connotations of its dual titles.
We know that the city is a dystopia due to an active smoke machine that emits its murky product throughout the affair, and there are also small fires burning in alleys of what is in reality an industrial district of Toronto.

Relative to its obscurity, City of Shadows offers plenty of bang for buck to those interested in a forgotten, gritty DTV action/cop drama. ★★ Watched by vhsfordays 02 Feb 2023 Synopsis: Garrett has kidnapped 12 children (and counting) killing at least one and it's up to grizzled violent detective Paul to put an end to it.
