Miles Copeland III. Miles Axe Copeland III (born May 2, 1944) is an American music and entertainment executive and former manager of the Police. Copeland later managed Sting's musical and acting career.
Copeland worked for British Intelligence during the Second World War, in the Special Operations Executive. [4] She met her American husband, Miles Copeland, Jr., during this period, when he was based in the UK undertaking counter-intelligence for the US Army Counter Intelligence Corps.
When Miles wasn’t busy recruiting spies and writing books, he spent time with his large family. He met his wife Lorraine Adie early in his career at an English Speaking Union reception for U.S. troops during WWII. The daughter of a neurosurgeon, she was also an intelligence officer, employed by the British Special Operations Executive.
Copeland was married to archaeologist Lorraine Adie. He was the father of music manager Miles Copeland III, booking agent Ian Copeland, film producer Lorraine (Lennie) Copeland, and drummer Stewart Copeland, a founding member of the rock band The Police. [7]
