An unemployed drunk hangs out at a public bench in the town centre with a group of like-minded souls, with no interests other than finding the money for the next drink. When a single mother moves into a neighbouring apartment he becomes involved in her troubles.
A Danish film about life at the bottom of the food chain. Kaj is an middle age alcoholic with nothing to show for his life. He has no contact with his family, lives alone and his daily routine revolves around alcohol and hanging out with his 'mates' on a local bench.

Oct 27, 2000 · Overview. Kaj is a stubborn man with a great deal of pride. The former chef lives in a council flat. He has wasted his life and is now on a council job training scheme for the long-term unemployed, where he refuses to let the foreman of the activation project boss him about.
1h 30m. Synopsis. In suburban Copenhagen, Kaj pays his daily visit to the bench. He's an alcoholic who spends most of his time with his drinking buddy Stig spewing a never-ending stream of moans and complaints, waiting to die.
An alcoholic (Jesper Christensen) tries to reconcile with the daughter (Stine Holm Joensen) he abandoned 19 years earlier.
