Viola Desmond Public School is an innovative learning community. Our learning community empowers students, educators, staff, parents and our neighbourhood. As a learning community, we are guided by 6 principles that we established together.
Viola Desmond is a new school in north Ajax that opened in September 2018. The school is a very innovative and spacious design with 3 common student areas, joining classrooms and a large learning commons that includes a Makerspace.

Viola Desmond Public School is a dual track elementary school. We currently have students in Grade 1 and 2 French Immersion, students in Kindergarten to Grade 8 in our English Track, as well as two Community Classes.
