Trunks is Supreme Kai's disciple so he should be trained to sense God Ki. Vegeta could have trained in how to harness God Ki and explained how Vegeta got it without the ritual. Trunks couldn't use God Ki like a form. Then Trunks big moment would be SS Rage.

The part that doesn’t add up is that for blue, you have to become a super saiyan while using godly ki, meaning that you hold all that ki in, allowing none to escape. What we see is him using basic super saiyan, which means he is allowing ki to escape, but somehow still getting that blue godly aura.
