Jan 16, 2007 · So, the consensus is that the studio version of Purple Rain has NEVER appeared on compact disc. Thanks. I'm lucky I was give a copy of the studio version many years ago, it was just on a made up cd of Hollies songs from the 90's. Every member of the Hollies has played his part, 50 great years and still going.

Oct 17, 2007 · The Hollies' best music is a great pleasure to listen to, but the remainder of the tracks apart from "Suspended..." are, to me, a chore to get through, not what music by The Hollies should be. Hey, I have a longtime Hollies pal who absolutely detests the whole album, so that proves how it has really rubbed certain Hollies purists the wrong way.
Possibly there are some hard feelings among members of the Hollies and Tony that still exist after 30 years. At any rate as a fan for over 40 years i found the whole thing depressing. All the members of the Hollies including Terry and Bernie should have been involved equally. Maybe Tony and Bobby didnt show because they saw this all coming.

True, the Hollies didn't do anything stupid and that's why the US was a doomed market for 'em. By the time MOVING FINGER came out, the post-woodstock "naked hippie" thing was (almost) on the way out. Also, the blue-jeaned, long hair singer-songwriter guys haden't yet evolved in to big sales.
