As far as claims made as to “heavier guitars sustain better” is somewhat misleading because that weight could be coming from clunky steel hardware and not necessarily the density of the wood. Jan 25, 2019 · Location. North Texas. I played a Nextone Stage 40-watt for a few minutes in Guitar Center today. I used a Telecaster, turned off all Delay and Reverb, and set all tone and presence controls at 12 o'clock. For volume, I started with Clean Volume down, Master fully up, and worked through a couple of power modes.
Sep 4, 2013 · The DRRI has the tone stack after 1 amplifier stage, the Hot Rod Deluxe clean channel has the tone stack after 2 amplifier stages. The Hot Rod Deluxe to my ears sounds like more gain and more bass than the DRRI. I much prefer the cleans on the DRRI. The DRRI has tube driven reverb which sounds better than the Hot Rod Deluxe.

Oct 27, 2008 · 2,385. Location. North Carolina, USA. Right, forgot to mention that the Blues Cubes have four varible power settings from 0.5, 15, 45W and 'max', either 60 or 80W. The Hot has 0.5, 5, 15, and max 30W. Not sure about the others on the list, but it's a useful feature. Headphone and line outs are there, too.

Oct 25, 2019 · First impressions: it looks EXACTLY like a Twin (I mistook it for one at GC and assumed I'd have to special order) and is lighter than I expected. I think it's the lightest combo amp I've owned, it weighs about the same as my 2x10 cabinet with neodymium speakers. I think if I'd plugged into it first, I would think it sounds EXACTLY like a Twin.

If you're talking about home levels, a Champ, perhaps with a 10" speaker would work for you, though truth to tell, a cranked Champ will piss off the neighbors. Aug 9, 2006 · The 40-45-50W Fender amps had wimpy output transformers, except for the Super Reverb and the Bassman. I bet a Super Reverb head driving a pair of 4-ohm 12" speakers in parallel, for a 2-ohm load, would come a lot closer to giving a Twin a run for the money. Aug 9, 2006. #6.
