300 should be viewed as a propaganda piece meant to rally support from the independent Greek nations, not as a historical account. The Spartans are shown as being larger than life - more noble than possible - heroes. And every Persian is either some weird monster or an enslaved unwilling fighter who just wants to go home.
The style (tone, slow no shot), violence, nudity is on par or better than the movie. The show was definitely inspired by the movie. The story, drama, dialogue and even acting is far better in the show. But promise me you'll grind through the first 3 episodes as they are kinda weak.

He also leaves out the fact that there were 7400 other Greek warriors who fought most of the battle, and pretends the 300 Spartans did all the fighting by themselves.
Jun 18, 2023 · 300 is a pretty good graphic novel whose visual style is captured in the movie. GoF is one of the finer pieces of historical fiction I have ever read. Pressfield weaves the story so tightly and beautifully, tying the threads of history and fiction together to the point you don't know which is which. The characters are unforgettable, the book sings.
Jan 17, 2021 · Even the narration is straight out of the graphic novel and it works. If more comic book movies were like 300, I think people wouldn't be as tired of them. 300, for me, is the epitome of a popcorn flick. It's gorgeous, linear, engaging, and stands up to multiple viewings beautifully.
