Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts (CCAA) first opened its doors in 1990. Since that time, CCAA has earned a reputation for excellence in Arts-based education. CCAA is an "arts-magnet" school offering a challenging and balanced curriculum in both the Arts and Academic subjects for students from Grade 7 to 12.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE ADMISSION PROCESS TO CARDINAL CARTER ACADEMY FOR THE ARTS. Our primary intake years are grades 7 and 9. Our waitlist expires at the end of September each school year. We do offer auditions for students who wish to enter grades 8, 10-12.
The school was named after Gerald Emmett Cardinal Carter, Ordinary of the Archdiocese of Toronto from 1978 to 1990, a strong supporter of education and a distinguished patron of the arts. The specialized Arts program allows students to concentrate in one of the four art areas.
We are an Arts-focused school offering an integrated and enriched Arts program from Grades 7-12. Our admission entry years are primarily Grades 7 and 9. Although when we have any available spots, we do audition for other grades but this depends on space.
