Given her track record with “Evening Shade” (time slot hit), “Hearts Afire” (misfire that wasted a hugely talented cast), and “Women of the House” (creative and commercial dud), I can’t really blame him.

But CBS sided with the Thomasons and Delta Burke and the new showrunner (who never produced an episode of the show) departed.
Aug 18, 2022 · Her longest-running role came on the CBS sitcom EVENING SHADE, starring Burt Reynolds. She played Merleen Eldridge for the show's entire run from 1990 to 1994. Her career slowed after EVENING SHADE ended, and she ultimately passed away in 2017, aged 83.

Mary really wants Lou to get along with Flo, but the two don't initially hit it off. Things work out well in the end when Lou apologizes for his behavior and he and Flo go out for an evening of dancing.

Sep 6, 2017 · I think the base is substantial -- to offset the weight of the shade. Also, it will be cornered between my fireplace and my "big chair" and my living room bookshelf (where I hold a lot of my DVDs) at the far end of the room, so it's kind of out of the flow of traffic.
