Tony Levin is a friend of Steve Gadd with whom he went to school. Steve was also the person who teached Tony to play bass at a higher jazz level. Together with Steve he joined Paul Simons band in 1975 and worked with him for about 5 years. Then he started to tour with Peter Gabriel too and is the main bass player in Gabriels band since that time.
Long time Paul Simon Graceland band touring member for 25 years Tony Cedras passed away in South Africa. Such sad news. All I know is he had a form of lung emphysem, he was in the USA for 6 months in hospital, and came back to South Africa where he died a few days later. Its many years since I talked to him, but he was so nice.

Guitar, Winds, Percussion, Urubamba was the band formed on request by Paul Simon to Joerge Milchberg to reactivate the ´Los Incas´ for his Live Rhymin tour 1973/1974. The played as a back-up on many songs like ´Duncan, The Boxer, El condor pasa,....) Paul also produced their album ´Urubamba´ which sadly has never been released on CD.
