Dec 10, 2013 · Now, on some level, I was thinking, I can kind of rationalize this as a viable control device. After all, joysticks were being used to fly real aircraft long before the design was adapted for videogame use, and in the case of the entire LCARS system going down on a Starship then having a 'manual steering column' as a backup is a pretty good idea.
Apr 6, 2022 · The original idea was to try to improve on the Enterprise-A we see at the end of Star Trek Beyond... but I got sidetracked a bit, and then got into a host of other designs. But today I want to get back to that original idea, again mixing some refit Enterprise stuff along with the Kelvin timeline to produce a mix of the two "A"s, adjusting the proportions of the Beyond design in the process.

The Making of Star Trek clearly identifies the bow of the engineering hull to hold the ship’s main sensor-deflector and the TOS version of “The Paradise Syndrome” visualized one strong deflection beam against the moon-sized asteroid emanating from a (yet) unseen location (according to TOS-R the main sensor-deflector).
Oct 18, 2015 · The Making of Star Trek (iirc) said the TOS Enterprise possessed 24 decks. If Starfleet refit/redecorated the Enterprise (as oppose to completely gutting her) the TMP version would presumably have the same deck count. The Enterprise A is a different ship, and the number of decks there are unknown (although there apparently is a deck 78).
Dec 11, 2018 · The labels are unclear in the film, but I've used a few of Lee Cole's Safety Labels from the Star Trek: The Motion Picture Sticker Book and I think they fit nicely. The second plant-on is an unknown item, but it reminded me of the small black objects placed around the Enterprise-A sets seen in The Undiscovered Country, which I believe were intended to be intercom speakers.
Oct 15, 2014 · But when your talking about a series like Star Trek or Star Wars which was a TV or film medium right from the start that argument just doesn't hold water with me. It's the events on TV and/or film that are canon and all the extra stuff like novels, comics, etc... are just things to keep hard core fans entertained and to make a few bucks from the franchise.

The plans are an aggregation of drawings from a lot of talented people, including David Shaw, Gary Kerr, Alan Sinclair, Charles Casimiro, and the Polar Lights decal guide from the large USS Enterprise model.
