She began her career as a model while studying fashion, competing in Miss Georgia USA in 1978. In addition to her work on Wheel of Fortune, she has played minor characters or appeared as herself in many films and television series, and is the author of the 1987 autobiography Vanna Speaks.
As a young adult, Vanna moved west to pursue a career where her attractive appearance and pleasant personality would be appreciated. She quickly befriended other aspiring actresses in Hollywood, and met the love of her life: John Gibson.
Vanna White (born Vanna Marie Rosich on February 18, 1957 from Conway, South Carolina) is the co-host of Wheel of Fortune, best known for her role as the letter-turner (letter-toucher since February 24, 1997). She has been with the show since late 1982, and first appeared as a temporary co-host after original co-host Susan Stafford left.
