    • Rome. Although Florence beat out Rome in our own poll of our readers' favorite cities, when it comes to photo uploads the Eternal City wins out. Rome and The Vatican combined have some of the most-photographed spots in all of Europe, including the iconic Trevi Fountain and St. Peter's Basilica.
    • Barcelona. Architecture lovers, beach bums, and foodies alike all commingle in Barcelona, so it's no surprise that the city ranks highly in the world for photographers.
    • Paris. Paris has long been considered one of the world's most romantic cities, and many amateur and professional photographers alike have found inspiration in the City of Light.
    • Istanbul. Istanbul is where Europe and Asia meet, and that combining of cultures has always made the city a fascinating place. Nearly all of its most photographed places are religious sites, which makes sense considering its many beautiful houses of worship, including the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, and the Chora Church.

    • Istanbul[SEE MAP] Once serving as the capital of the Ottoman and Byzantine Empires, Istanbul today is the largest city in Turkey. Istanbul stretches across both sides of the Bosphorus, a narrow strait that connects Asia and Europe, making it the only city in the world spanning two continents.
    • Italy. As one of the top tourist destinations in Europe, Italy is guaranteed to delight travelers with its array of romantic landscapes. The northern part of the country is home to turquoise lakes (Lake Como, Lake Garda, etc.)
    • Switzerland. If you’re a fan of snowy peaks, charming villages, and mirror-like lakes, then Switzerland is a must-see on your European trip. Dominated by the Swiss Alps (make sure to visit the 14,692-foot Matterhorn), this landlocked country is an ideal destination for hikers, climbers, or winter sports enthusiasts.
    • Spain. Spain is one of the most geographically diverse countries in Europe. And while most people come here for the vibrant cities or sun-soaked beaches, most of the country remains relatively unspoiled by mainstream tourism.
    • Iceland. Over the last few years, Iceland’s tourism has grown exponentially. But once you step foot on this Nordic island, you’ll feel as if there’s nothing around you except pristine natural beauty.

  3. 1. Florence, Italy. The capital of Italy’s region of Tuscany is commonly regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After visiting a handful of times over the years, I’ve gotta say I wholeheartedly agree. Florence is home to so much living history from the Renaissance period.
