    • The Matrix. There still could only be one film that takes the top spot on this ranking and it was always going to be The Matrix. It is a film that still remains as refreshing and audacious as when it first came out.
    • Cloud Atlas. An adaptation of the novel of the same name by David Mitchell, Cloud Atlas is another work from the directors that deserved more attention than it got.
    • Speed Racer. A film that was woefully misunderstood and critically undervalued when it was first released, Speed Racer is a remarkable adaptation that came out long before anyone was prepared for it.
    • The Matrix Reloaded. The second entry in the series, The Matrix Reloaded had the tough task of carrying on after the first film left audiences' jaws on the floor.

    • Bound (1996) - 86% The popular legend of this movie is that this was their guarantor for them to prove that they could direct in order to make The Matrix.
    • The Matrix (1999) - 83% The most culturally important movie since Star Wars in 1977. This caused a seismic shift in the landscape of cinema forever, in that every movie after this is trying its hardest to either copy it or avoid copying it all together.
    • The Matrix Reloaded (2003) - 74% The Wachowskis' follow-up to their masterpiece that had more hype around it than The Force Awakens. This movie could never live up to the cultural phenomenon that was The Matrix, but they sure tried their hardest.
    • Cloud Atlas (2012) - 66% Arguably the Wachowskis' most sincere movie, Cloud Atlas skillfully weaves in and out of six different stories in a way that is incredibly engaging over the course of three hours.
    • The Matrix (1999) Warner Bros. More than 20 years ago, The Wachowskis rocked the world with their cyberpunk masterpiece The Matrix. The story of a man ripped out of “reality” and shown the truth — that we are all slaves to an army of machines keeping us complacent in a computer program — transformed not just Hollywood, but culture itself.
    • Bound (1996) Universal. A queer, mobster, neo-noir, erotic thriller, heist film? Why didn’t this become the dominant Hollywood genre for years? Released just three years before The Matrix, the Wachowskis’ first feature sees a woman married to a mafia money launderer falling for and conspiring with her mysterious new neighbor to rip off her husband.
    • The Matrix Resurrections (2021) Warner Bros. An odd sequel, no doubt, The Matrix Resurrections effectively makes an argument against its own existence, taking on Hollywood’s obsession with franchises even as it adds its own fresh spin on a film series launched over two decades ago.
    • Jupiter Ascending (2015) Warner Bros. Jupiter Ascending may well be the film that pushed the Wachowskis off the map. It was probably their worst-reviewed film, and their Rotten Tomatoes audience score isn’t much better.
    • The Matrix - 80.5 Percent. Shocking no one, The Matrix remains the Wachowskis' best-reviewed film to date, and with good reason. With its game-changing "bullet-time" sequences and unique blend of sci-fi, noir, horror and existentialism, the movie caught audiences and critics alike off-guard when it first hit theaters in 1999.
    • Bound - 75 Percent. Three years before they first sent Keanu Reeves somewhere over the digital rainbow, the Wachowskis burst onto the scene with 1996's Bound, a hard-boiled thriller about Violet and Corky, two queer woman who fall in love and conspire to steal millions of dollars through Violet's boyfriend, a money launderer for the mafia.
    • The Matrix Reloaded - 67.5 Percent. Say what you will about The Matrix Reloaded, but the sequel goes all out in its efforts to build upon its predecessor's themes while at the same time delivering boatloads of impressive fight choreography, as well as one of the most complicated car chases ever put to the screen.
    • Cloud Atlas - 60.5 Percent. Before their collaboration on Netflix's sci-fi series Sense8, Tom Tykwer and the Wachowskis teamed up for a movie based on David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas, a kaleidoscopic narrative that spans multiple genres as it follows a group of souls reincarnated in different periods of history.
