Really enjoyed it, and I followed it up by watching a Universal B-flick that our "Gang Busters" stars, Kent Taylor and Irene Hervey, appeared in together right about the same time, "Frisco Lil" (1942). Hervey actually gets the spotlight in this one, and it's good fun.

If this sounds like your meat, the VCI Blu-ray edition has clear images with little snow, good sharpness, and clear audio with minimal distortion and few pops.

Gang Busters was very successful in its original release, and was re-released in 1949 by Film Classics, Inc. Authors Jim Harmon and Donald F. Glut described Gang Busters as a "well made and interesting serial.", [1] and William C. Cline considered the serial one of Universal's best [2] and that Professor Mortis is one of the best characters ever created for a serial.
