   When did Werrington become a village?

   • One hundred years ago the village of Werrington consisted mainly of the houses around the windmill. Now, it has expanded to include Washerwall, parts of Wetley Common, Withystakes, Ash Bank, Armshead, Cellarhead, and some of Brookhouse Lane. This quite rapid expansion began around 1925, when the Meigh family broke up and sold their Ash Hall estate.

   I find Glenmore Park, Claremont Meadows, Cranebrook, Emu Plains and Emu Heights have some really nice pockets to live in. I would argue safest is easily Emu Heights, but it’s also the hardest suburb to get public transport in. Werrington county, werrington downs, Jordan springs.
