The Finance department is the hub of financial activity for the City. This includes the issuance of debt, both long and short term, preparation of the annual budget, payment of all city invoices, payroll processing and the collection of various general licenses, including occupation and animal.
Per the Leawood City Code, any dog or cat must have a license within 30 days of being brought into the city or reaching the age of six months. Each dog or cat over six months must be vaccinated against rabies or have a statement from a licensed vet showing recommendations against inoculation.
Animal Control. The department's three animal control officers have probably dealt with it if it crawls, flies, or walks on four legs. The Animal Control Officers (ACO) regulate the nearly 2,800 domestic dogs and cats registered in the City each year.
