Mitchel Air Force Base also known as Mitchel Field was a United States Air Force base. It is located on Long Island, New York. The base was active since the American Revolution. It was used during World War I and II. After World War 2, the base became an Air Force Base. The base was no longer in service in 1961.
Mar 1, 2020 · On March 1, 2020 I took a walk around Mitchel Field, now Nassau Community College and Museum Row, and took pictures of every existing building from the old base. Now on the National Register of Historic Places, Mitchel Field (Air Force Base) will hopefully be preserved forever.
