Goku Black (ゴクウブラックGokū Burakku), also known as Zamasu (ザマスZamasu), though usually referred to as Black (ブラックBurakku), is an alternate incarnation of Zamasu and a former North Kai and Supreme Kai apprentice serving his former master Gowasu from the unaltered main timeline within Universe 10.
The core reason he starts in universe 7 (the FUTURE TRUNKS universe 7) is because Beerus is dead. However, the confusing part is that he apparently killed all the other supreme Kais, and therefore all the other GoDs.
According to Goku, Zamasu's power far surpasses the power of Universe 7's Kaioshin and happens to be superior to the former Kaioshins who were killed/absorbed by Majin Buu, though he is not as strong as Super Saiyan 2 Goku post-training with Whis.

Oct 12, 2016 · Black explained that he was infact the Zamasu who fought Goku, and that is what made him take Goku's body. What was strange is that he is depicted taking Goku's body during the Farming session, which happened long before Zamasu's fight.
