- Main Title, A New Hope. What else could be No. 1? Williams' main theme is Star Wars personified, opening and closing each of the nine Skywalker films. Those blaring horns set the tone for the story to come, and the entire track is a masterpiece, part military fanfare and part swelling adventure theme.
- The Imperial March, The Empire Strikes Back. "The Imperial March" isn't just an iconic piece of movie music; it might be one of the most well-known melodies in all of pop culture.
- Duel of the Fates, The Phantom Menace. When Williams returned for the prequel trilogy, he could've coasted on old themes and throwbacks to familiar melodies.

Williams' score for Star Wars was recorded over eight sessions at Anvil Studios in Denham, England on March 5, 8–12, 15 and 16, 1977.

Star Wars - Duel of the Fates (Soundtrack) Jedi Steps. It was perhaps surprising to hear a theme at the end of The Force Awakens that rams together a beautifully delicate flute melody and some properly squelchy chords, chords that not only hint at dark things to come, but link directly to the Imperial March.
