Falmouth (/ ˈfælməθ / FAL-məth) is a town in Barnstable County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 32,517 at the 2020 census, [2] making Falmouth the second-largest municipality on Cape Cod after Barnstable. The terminal for the Steamship Authority ferries to Martha's Vineyard is located in the village of Woods Hole in Falmouth.
1. A little difficult to find, The Knob is one more good reason to visit Woods Hole. Falmouth's "Knob", part of the Cornelia Carey Sanctuary just outside Woods Hole, is a narrow promontory of large boulders stretching out into Quissett Harbor and best known for it scenic view of Buzzards Bay.
- Shop On Main Street. Falmouth has one of the best Main Streets for shopping on Cape Cod, and you’ll find lots of storefronts with everything from t-shirt and souvenir places, beautifully-curated gift and home decor shops, a lovely bookstore and jewelry boutiques.
- Cruise Along The Shining Sea Bikeway. The Shining Sea Bikeway is a beautiful, paved bike path that’s just over 10 miles long, and takes you from Falmouth Village to Woods Hole.
- Spend The Day At Old Silver Beach. Old Silver Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Falmouth, and for good reason. It has a long stretch of soft sand and gorgeous, calm waters along Buzzards Bay.
- Relax At Spohr Gardens. Spohr Gardens is a lovely little hidden gem in Falmouth with lovely gardens (of course), nature trails and beautiful views of Oyster Pond.
