Anthony Potero (born: July 30, 2001 (2001-07-30) [age 22]), formerly known as anthpo, is an American YouTuber known for his comedy and vlog videos.
He went viral with a video called "Harassing people with fat yoshi" and achieved additional fame with "Defending my high school as Ben 10" and "Disturbing Students as Perry the Platypus".
Potero was born on July 30, 2001 in Woolwich Township, New Jersey. He ran track at Kingsway High School and graduated in 2019. He was a student at Rutgers University where he studied marketing. He graduated in May of 2023. He owns two cats, Boots and Fuzz, both of them which he revealed in his video "we adopted kittens and it's epic".
The first video featured on his channel was from December of 2018 and titled "USB mouse making my car fly". He soon began posting videos within his high school, which involved interactions with fellow students. Anthony would do such things as hand out pictures of fat Yoshi, dress up as Perry the Platypus, and give out free cookies at lunch. Once entering college, he continued doing the same shenanigans, up until the pandemic hit. Anthony began branching out with his content, particularly using greenscreens. With this, he made parodies of various TV shows, like Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Office, Breaking Bad and iCarly. Some of those were collaborations with members of 'The House Nobody Asked For' (aka THNAF), which was a TikTok group started by fellow creator Wahony. Most frequent would be 8illy, who Anthony still occasionally collaborates with. The group lived together from July 2020 until December 2020, still living close by until spring 2021.
Once moving back to Jersey for on campus classes, his videos would slightly change in style. He currently does vlog videos under the name "The College Experience™" where he gets himself into shenanigans with his friends. Most noteworthy is Henry, who was featured in many early college videos. Other present faces are Hanbon, Kieran, Collin, Paige, Enzo, Janice, Abhi, and so many more. He plans to do this until he graduates from college. He recently released 'friends' merch containing pictures of him and his friends in celebration of this new change in focus as well as just his friends in general.
His first collaboration on YouTube was with Caroline Konstnar.
He allegedly got PewDiePie to join his birthday livestream on 2020. Though actually, it was 8illy in a full-body greenscreen suit with pictures of PewDiePie on it.
Furry Convention
In May 15th 2024, as part of his comeback to YouTube, Anthony uploaded a video titled "I spend 200 days undercover as a Furry", talking about his experience in a Furry Convention, while also trying to attend private Furry parties with sexual connotations through business cards and joining Telegram groups. The original version of the video featured an Animal Crossing recreation of his experience at a party in which its members put themselves together naked side by side in a bed. This was followed by a scene in which Anthony participated in a "cuddling party", in which people in underwear hugged eachother. This last portion filming style resembled such of hidden camera videos, with certain body parts and faces being blurred and voices distorted. After reaciving some criticism on X from members from the Furry community, specially regarding the consent of the people featured in the cuddling party and the possibility of the video reinforcing sterotypes from the comunity , and the video being age restricted, Anthony released an apology on X explaning that consent was giving for the filming of the party, while deleting those scenes from the video and putting up a fundraiser for The Trevor Project .
